*Jackpocket Gives Texas Rangers Fans Chance At $10,000*
Eventually, one of the country’s most popular lottery courier services may sponsor enough professional sports teams to field an entire lineup. The latest step toward that end is a new deal between Jackpocket and the Texas Rangers.
For Texas Lottery players, this partnership means new ways to try for prizes while taking in Rangers games. Jackpocket could provide some lucky fans with a $10,000 cash prize if things play out the right way, too.
Jackpocket, Rangers team up
A Wednesday press release says that Jackpocket is now the “official mobile lottery partner” of the Rangers. Jackpocket is a courier service for lottery tickets. With the app, Texas Lottery players can place orders for physical tickets for draw-style games.
In exchange for its sponsorship dollars, Jackpocket gets in-game advertising on Rangers radio broadcasts.
In addition, Jackpocket also gets both digital and physical signage at Globe Life Field. It’s the sixth North American sports partnership for the service, which made the Minnesota Twins it’s first in Major League Baseball earlier this year.
“With this partnership, we’re looking forward to engaging both Rangers fans and lottery fans alike, as baseball and the lottery are subsets of two of America’s favorite entertainment options,” said Jackpocket CEO Peter Sullivan.
“Texas has a big appetite for the lottery, and Jackpocket is always looking for ways to meet players where they are. This partnership seamlessly provides people with a new way to play.”
Online lottery sales remain illegal in Texas, but Jackpocket provides a sort of a workaround for that. That isn’t the only thing Jackpocket is providing for Rangers fans specifically now, though.
Perks for fans in the Jackpocket-Rangers deal
Rangers fans will have chances at giveaways like field tours and VIP tickets as part of this Jackpocket deal. Other potential perks deal with lottery tickets and chances at cold, hard cash.
For example, the Rangers will be giving away free lottery tickets during high jackpot moments. Each Jackpocket app user can use the code “RANGERS” to redeem a free ticket for themselves as well.
Perhaps the most lucrative promotion is the new “Hit It Here” sign in the right field at Globe Life Field. At each Rangers home game, one fan will win $10,000 if a home run ball off a Rangers player’s bat hits that sign.
While the odds of that happening might not be strong, they might actually be better than those of winning some of the lottery games Jackpocket offers. Should a home run ball hit that sign, though, it will be doubly sweet for some Rangers fans.
